Create a meet

A meet is created from a template (the event program — which events, in what order, for which age groups) and a pool (the venue, which fixes the number of lanes).

  1. From the meet list, choose New meet.
  2. Pick a template. Templates come from your league’s configured event programs — e.g. a dual-meet full program, a tri-meet program, or time trials.
  3. Pick a pool. The pool sets the lane count used by seeding and lane sheets.
  4. Set the name, date, and meet type (dual, tri, championship, time trials). The meet type drives seeding and lane-assignment policy.
  5. Create. The meet opens on its hub, where the schedule, run screen, and results tabs live.

The meet type isn’t just a label — it selects how the meet seeds and assigns lanes:

  • Dual / tri — team-based lane assignment (home/visitor lanes), relays consolidated into a single centered heat where they fit.
  • Championship — prelims/finals for the sprint strokes with circle-seeded fast heats; IM, 100s, and relays run as timed finals.
  • Time trials — straight seeding by time, no team-lane split.

See Entries & seeding for what each mode does, and Leagues & rules for where the policies come from.
