Create a meet

A meet is created from a template (the event program — which events, in what order, for which age groups) and a pool (the venue, which fixes the number of lanes).
- From the meet list, choose New meet.
- Pick a template. Templates come from your league’s configured event programs — e.g. a dual-meet full program, a tri-meet program, or time trials.
- Pick a pool. The pool sets the lane count used by seeding and lane sheets.
- Set the name, date, and meet type (dual, tri, championship, time trials). The meet type drives seeding and lane-assignment policy.
- Create. The meet opens on its hub, where the schedule, run screen, and results tabs live.
Meet type matters
Section titled “Meet type matters”The meet type isn’t just a label — it selects how the meet seeds and assigns lanes:
- Dual / tri — team-based lane assignment (home/visitor lanes), relays consolidated into a single centered heat where they fit.
- Championship — prelims/finals for the sprint strokes with circle-seeded fast heats; IM, 100s, and relays run as timed finals.
- Time trials — straight seeding by time, no team-lane split.
See Entries & seeding for what each mode does, and Leagues & rules for where the policies come from.
