Results & DQs

As heats finish, each lane gets a time or a status — DQ, no-show (NS), or did-not-finish (DNF). (A scratch is different: it’s withdrawing the entry before the swim — done from the schedule or check-in, not as a lane result.) When every lane in an event is resolved, you finalize it so it can be scored.

  • Times arrive automatically from a connected timing system, or are typed in per lane on the run screen.
  • Record a DQ with its code (the app provides the DQ-code list). Clearing a status returns the lane to “needs a time.”
  • The desk gets a prompt to collect and enter DQ slips while results are coming in, before finalizing.

When an event’s lanes are all resolved, it shows as ready to finalize. Finalizing marks the results official and makes them eligible for scoring. A notification lists events that are ready so nothing is missed.

Result edits use optimistic locking. Timing-system imports always win over the last-seen version (they’re authoritative), so a re-import won’t be blocked by a stale edit.

Two things worth knowing about how corrections are recorded:

  • The desk’s ruling is stored on the swim, not inferred: adjusting a time the lane already had (or accepting a flagged one) marks the swim as desk-adjusted/accepted, and that marking flows into the Meet Manager exports the way MM records it. Once an event is finalized, its rulings are locked — you can still dismiss a stale flag from the feed, but it won’t change the swim.
  • Imports refuse captures for heats the meet never ran (warm-up races, button-training files) and the import summary names each refused event/heat pair — check it if a heat you expected didn’t come in.

For prelim/finals meets, advance to Finals & swim-offs. Otherwise go straight to Scoring.
